As one of the oldest neighborhoods near Lake James, the communities that border the north side of the lake are a quaint group of cottages and log homes built as far back as the early 20th century. Many of these homes border the Linville River, making these quiet communities private and peaceful. Fonta Flora is located on the north side of the lake approximately 15 miles from Morganton.
