What Huge Fun!
Lake James Real Estate held their 1st Annual Lake James Pumpkin Festival on October 15th. The weather was perfect, the crowd was large, the food was delicious and the pumpkins were orange! The event took place at the Lake James Real Estate office located on NC 126 in Morganton. Clients, family, and friends were invited to a cookout, a pumpkin giveaway and carving and to tour the cool Lake James Real Estate office. We would like to thank all who attended and extend a special thanks to Mark Strom from Asheville who came to professionally carve pumpkins that were then given away in drawings held every hour. Mark’s work can also be seen adjacent to the Lake James Real Estate office. He completed a large wooden sculpture with an eagle perched atop it earlier this summer. The event was a huge success and we are looking forward to next years Lake James Real Estate Pumpkin Festival – be sure to join us!

New Lake James State Park
Lake James is getting a new State Park! The new state park master plan includes 2,915
acres acquired earlier this year. LandDesign, a Charlotte planning and landscape architecture firm will produce the plan under contract with the state parks system and expects to complete this process in the spring of 2006. As an interim step, following a series of public meetings, LandDesign has developed three alternative concepts for management of the additional land. Ultimately, the master plan may be based on one of these concepts or on some combination of them. You can look at the concepts by going to www.ils.unc.edu/parkproject/visit/laja/concepts.html.
